Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma: a report of two cases

<p class="abstract">Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma (PLGA) is an infrequent type of malignant epithelial tumor that occurs almost exclusively in minor salivary glands. It commonly presents women between the sixth and eighth decade life, usually as asymptomatic mass long evolution slow growth oral cavity but can erode infiltrate adjacent bone. We present 2 case reports review literature on subject. One presented with a growing developed over course 12 years, incorrectly diagnosed first incisional biopsy benign tumor. The second recurring PLGA 19 years after first, which appeared at unusually young age. Both cases were managed treatment choice: surgery wide excision margins. Although prophylactic neck dissection not rule, it was part postoperative both cases, along life-long follow-ups to find recurrences early stages. A high level suspicion knowledge regarding its presentation are essential for correct diagnosis management.</p>
